What is Scrum?

Scrum is one of many different types of Agile Software Development Frameworks that can be used to deliver working software.

Is working software a part of your reality today?

Why this site?

This site contains information (including a blog and cartoons) for people Implementing Scrum - at all levels of experience. It is intended for:
  • Recently minted ScrumMasters
  • People interested in hiring ScrumMasters
  • Team Members new to Scrum
  • People using other Agile Pracitices (like XP, Agile Modeling, or...)
  • Practitioners of Scrum
  • Product Owners
  • Managers of Scrum Teams (who may be wondering how to work in this Agile world)
  • Scrum Coaches
  • Executives interested in real life information about Scrum and how to roll it out to an organization
  • Certified Scrum Trainers
  • Curious people asking, "What is Scrum?" (It is NOT an acronym for anything).

Who are we?

My name is Michael Vizdos and the artist working with me is Tony Clark. As a Certified Scrum Practitioner (or Coach / Mentor / Consultant) and Certified Scrum Trainer, I get the opportunity to see both the good and impossibly bad implementations of Scrum.

Sometimes, I find humor in the situations (and it is not always politically correct). Since I continue to see these situations all around the world, I thought I'd connect with an artist, develop some cartoons, and provide some narrative to help people learn.

I've been publishing this cartoon series and regular blog entries for over a year now, and if you'd like to find out more about me and the services I can offer you and your team (or managers and executives in your organization), please visit www.michaelvizdos.com. We actually use Scrum to maintain this site.

The site continues to evolve in an agile fashion; it officially launched on September 11, 2006, and started with a classic story from within the Scrum community (now translated into multiple languages). Meet the cast or view our updated blog!

I am a Certified Scrum Trainer and actively work with client teams around the world to help produce working software. I use Scrum and other Agile Practices that make sense for the team.

I hope you see from this free information site that I am not a theory wonk (smile) and actually love doing what I do in the professional world.
